Special Education - Advocacy

Message from the Assistant Curriculum Leader of Special Education - Advocacy

Welcome to the Special Education and Advocacy Department!

We have so many great things happening in our Mild Intellectual Disability (MID), Learning Disability (LD), Physically Disability (PD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Programs. Our Special Education department is designed to work closely with families, students, and staff to promote achievement.

Through us, accommodations and modifications, prescribed in the IEP, are in place to support each student’s academic needs. Additionally, students can access our Child and Youth Worker and our Safe and Caring Adult Program to support their emotional and social needs.

Students and families needing help advocating for funding, services, community programs and post-secondary choices are encouraged to connect with us. From Homework Club to Student Council to sports teams, we offer a wide range of activities tailored to the needs and interests of our students.
